Osteoporosis Treatment

Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become fragile and more likely to break. It is often termed a “silent disease” as most people are unaware they have it until a fracture occurs.

Osteoporosis can be prevented and treated.Katrina Voelker, PT and Andrea Marchi PT, MBA, CSCS are able to develop individualized programs of treatment according to the specific needs of the patient. Programs are available for men and women. Post Menopausal women are very susceptible to the disease.

Physical therapy treatment of the disease includes weight bearing and resistive exercises to build bone, postural and flexibility exercises to improve posture and joint mobility, and balance activities to help prevent falls.
